Galaxy Nexus on Bell now receiving OTA to bring it up to Android 4.0.2

Sunday, February 12th, 2012

Hooray for the Canadians. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus up there running on Bell Mobility should see an update hit their device now or very shortly. Granted, it is not the newest build that many other devices are on, 4.0.3, but it is a start right?  It still brings up other question about the five various versions of ICS that are running in the wild though. Last we heard 4.0.3 was supposed to be the new standard that all ICS device were to be started with. There are also rumors of 4.0.4 and 4.05 already cruising around.

Be on the look out for your Gnex to prompt you for the update or you can try to prompt it by hitting Menu > System Settings > About Phone > System Updates. Happy updating, and hopefully you get 4.0.3 soon as well.

Apple Brings TV Show Downloads to Canadian Apple TV Users

Thursday, December 8th, 2011

Apple has granted Canadians the ability to download and watch TV shows on Apple TV.

Apple TV is Apple’s answer to television entertainment. It’s basically an internet box capable of streaming internet and computer content to your television set. It has some built in features that you need to pay monthly for including Netflix. Additionally, you can buy entertainment through iTunes as downloads or rentals at your own convenience to watch with your family.

I didn’t even know this, but apparently, Canada was secluded from being able to download and watch TV shows on Apple

Transformer Prime listed for Staples in Canada

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

Hurray for our friends in the frozen north. According to Staples online page in for Canada, the Transformer Prime is “Coming Soon.” Hopefully, if all things go like we hope they do, we might see this tablet landing in time for boxing day. Which for the non-Canadians, is the equivalent of our Black Friday. I personally hope this tablet gets here soon. I am tired of waiting for it.

Samsung Galaxy S2X headed to TELUS on October 19th

Wednesday, October 5th, 2011

You go get some TELUS! Looks like the Samsung Galaxy S2X aka the Hercules, is headed your way soon. Not that we need to recap what this device is, but we will. You lucky Canadians are looking at an Android 2.3.5 device, 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus, 1.5Ghz dual-core processor and an 8mp camera. For all practical purposes, it is a Galaxy S II.

No specifics on a price tag as of yet but I would imagine that it should stick around the same price that its US cousins are dropping for. The document that was snapped does show us the most important thing when it comes to a new device, its launch day.

How many awesome Canadians are looking forward to picking one of these bad boys up?
