5. Roidizer

Another fun one, this app is user friendly with a simple navigation. The pics you take through this app are Polaroid-style. Each image you snap develops and changes as you watch. At the bottom of the photo, in the classic white area at the bottom, you can even “write” titles and captions using several available fonts.

6.Vignette

This photo app is very customizable with a wide variety of effects and editing options to choose from… even with the free version of this app. Photos edited within Vignette usually have a retro style, something that seems to be all the rage with many of the current photo apps available. The photos made with this Android app have a smaller resolution, which means they are easier to share, especially on the web or with other smartphone users.

7. Action Snap

This one is fun and different. The features it offers definitely sets it apart from many other photo apps and their attempts to make most photos look and feel retro. While this app does come with several filters to choose from, that isn’t what Action Snap does best. It can capture a sequence of images and automatically stitches them together, a great feature if you are attempting motion photography with your smartphone. You can control the shutter interval and start taking photos, and the app puts these images together. The whole thing is accessed with a simple interface.

8. Little Photo

If you love trying different photo filters, this may just be the perfect app for you as it has tons of them to choose from! It is easy to use, and it creates quality images that will definitely be share worthy.

Unlike the other photo apps, this one is made just to be funny. It uses facial recognitions to find folks to make fat in photos. Using a front shot, it makes any face look very obese with a few slight adjustments.

Upcoming: Add Basic Photo Editing Tools in Photos.app with PhotoEdit

Sunday, October 2nd, 2011

Although it seems to be more of a joke these days, the saying “There’s an app for that” has proved to truly be a reality. Whether you search the App Store or Cydia, you will find a tweak or application that does just about anything. These days, companies such as Apple have even played on this notion by pushing the comprehensive library that it has.

But where a struggle can occur is when looking for an application that is simple and inexpensive, especially with an expansion library to choose from. When it comes down to photo editing applications specifically, you can be in a bind if you’re just

Share Board – App Review

Saturday, June 25th, 2011

Share Board App ReviewA new universal app called Share Board, designed with both the iPhone and iPad in mind is revolutionizing the way people sharing and collaborate on projects. Whether it is playing tic-tac-toe with a friend or joining forces to solve a math problem, Share Board makes it easy to connect and share.

Share Board uses Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to connect up to 4 users to one a single page. Each person can choose a colour, select from 4 writing/editing tools and begin creating. Everything happens in real time, and Share Board does a great job at making it as close to real time as possible. The delay is virtually non-existent. You can even load images, highlight text, and share the final products on Facebook and Twitter.

Share Board is a well put together app as well. There are a few improvements that I would love to see in the future version however. When the app first opens, you are presented with a pop-up and several commands that seem very confusing at first. When you are not familiar with what the application is supposed it is difficult to make such selections. A introductory guide or walk-through would be a wonderful addition to Share Board. The most important feature of all that I failed to find in the current version is the Undo/Redo function. With addition of these features, Share Board would simply be outstanding!

Share Board has many possibilities and is overall a great application. Although it can be a little pricy at $7.99, it is well worth the money if you are purchasing with a specific use in mind. If, however, you have a friend with Share Board and you want to join in on the action with out having to dish out 8 bucks, you can download the Share Board client for free, which allows you to connect to an already existing board created on a different device.
