Acer CloudMobile smartphone and Acercloud service headed to Mobile World Congress

I don’t think many of you are strangers to cloud based services. We have a lot of it already running around Android like Dropbox, Box, Hi-Drive and SugarSync to name a few that pop into my mind. We also heard recently that Google is working on a cloud service beyond Google Docs and Google Music. With the Cloud being the new “must have” thing, it should come as no surprise that manufacturers are looking to create their own personalized solutions and offerings as well.
At CES this year Acer was talking a bit about their cloud, Acercloud. How original, I know. Aiming to sync up documents and most likely more to their cloud would allow you to access it seamlessly and easily from any Acre product from a handset to a tablet to a PC. The service sounds like another great addition to their line up. To help make its debut even better, they are bringing a new ‘flagship’ device to MWC. It just won the iF Product Design Award for outstanding achievement of design. Looking at the image you can see exactly why, it loos really fantastic. The device is said to be called the Acer CloudMobile. Again, not all that original. Beyond looks and product name the real specs of the device are scarce.
What is known so far is that it will, in fact, be sporting Ice Cream Sandwich, has a 4.3-inch HD screen, Dolby digital audio and is just a little under 10mm thick. The device as well as the Acercloud, should get some great run downs during MWC in a couple of weeks. Expect to see the CloudMobile to make headlines soon.

In the mobile world that we live in looks are just as important as features. Over the last 6 months to a year I can only peg down a few devices that looked good, in my opinion, and offered something new. I don’t mean a small increase in processor speed, or larger HD screen either. I mean something that can offer more to a user than what many other devices already have. The Xperia S is easily a device that fits the bill.
