Rhapsody is a pretty cool application that you can pick up for free and pay a monthly service for unlimited access too. It is another streaming music service that exists on the market. I compare it to Spotify personally. They have a music bank of over 14 million songs with customized playlists and new music recommendations. Today, Rhapsody announced an update to their popular service that brought in a full featured Android tablet app. Making your experience with the service even better. The updated app brings mostly a visual update for the large screens. With full album art, artist photos and biographies all in a magazine style lay out.
“We didn’t just resize Rhapsody – we re-imagined the entire experience for the tablet,” said Brendan Benzing, chief product officer, Rhapsody. “The tablet is not a giant phone or a mini computer. It’s your companion on the couch, in transit and out in the world, and therefore people experience music and consume content differently than they would on a computer, portable device, TV or home audio system.”

Nothing wrong with an app revamp that looks better and feels better on our tablets. The monthly service stays at $9.99 a month, but is connected to your account. Which can be used on Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, RIM BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7, Android and 70 other consumer electronics. Gives you an easy way to have music everywhere on everything for one price really. Checkout the app through the market below by clicking or scanning the following QR code.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
America’s top premium subscription music service brings an engaging music experience to Android tablets, with a focus on premium, original editorial content
SEATTLE—February 2, 2012—Rhapsody today announced the availability of its new application for Android tablets. This latest product innovation from the most popular premium subscription music service in America makes it even easier for Rhapsody members to discover new music, read about their favorite artists and rediscover music with expert playlists, guides and features.
The tablet transforms Rhapsody into an immersive experience that’s inspired by what digital music lovers miss about physical albums and CDs: album art, photos and the ability to reach out and touch the next album you’re playing. The tablet amplifies the experience with the best aspects of digital, with links across the universe of content that Rhapsody editors have produced over the past decade.
Original editorial content has been a mainstay of the Rhapsody service since it launched in 2001. Each week, the editorial team–who are the leading writers in their respective genres–produces features, reviews, videos and playlists designed to guide members through Rhapsody’s vast catalog of 14 million songs across nearly 600 musical genres. The tablet application is built around this content, with lush imagery, playable links and franchises designed to guide members through the service.
The application maximizes the unique capabilities of the tablet. Members can tap, swipe and zoom through Rhapsody content while listening. In addition to streaming the Rhapsody catalog while connected to the Internet, tablet users can download playlists to their tablet can store to enjoy offline anywhere.
“We are dedicated to creating a premium experience that consistently brings value to every aspect of the Rhapsody service,” said Benzing. “The tablet app delivers on this promise by providing more than just access to music—it’s a guided tour of millions of songs and a musical canvas for a myriad of experiences, from collaborating with friends to build a party playlist by passing the tablet around the room, to providing a soundtrack to a recipe or an e-book.”
The tablet application is available today in the Android Market and the Amazon Appstore for Android.
Rhapsody applications are also available on the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, RIM BlackBerry, and Windows Phone 7 as well as through more than 70 consumer electronics devices, including those by Vizio, SanDisk, HP, Sonos and Philips.

Visual Metronome is a metronome for the iPhone and iPod Touch that provides extremely accurate audio and visual beat indication. It is by far and away the most flexible metronome in the app store.
As mentioned in the New York Times:
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/03/technology/personaltech/03smart.html?ref=technology
- Universal app with different interfaces optimized for the iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad.
- 1 – 800 bpm. The widest range of tempos of any metronome in the app store, doubling what other metronomes are capable of thanks to its precision audio engine.
- Multitask enabled for iOS devices. Visual Metronome can play in the background while you are reading sheet music in another app.
- The click of your metronome is important; you’re going to be hearing it a lot. Visual Metronome is the only metronome in the app store featuring click synthesis that allows you to customize your clicks to sound the way you want.
- Subdivisions from quarter notes to sixty-fourth notes, with every thing in between (16th notes, quintuplets, nontuplets…). Individual subdivisions can be accented or muted.
- Sick of metronomes that only allow you to play in 3,4,6 and 8? Visual Metronome is the only metronome in the app store featuring unlimited length sequences in which accents can be placed on any beat or subdivision. Play in 5, 5+21+2, 7, 13, whatever you want… the sequencer makes it easy to create complex rhythmic patterns like claves.
- Accuracy down to a tenth of a bpm. Visual Metronome is the only dedicated metronome app that lets you specify tempos with this degree of precision. Double tap the tempo readout to enter your exact tempo or tap the large beat display in time and let Visual Metronome calculate the BPM for you.
- Accurate timing is maintained while the display is asleep. Allowing the display to sleep while still outputting audio *greatly* increases battery life. There is also an option to always leave the display on for visual use.
- Setlist allowing you to save and recall custom presets containing BPM info, accent placement and all options. Easily switch between presets by swiping the main beat display… a single swipe is all that is required. Presets are also presented in a list for direct selection.
- The audio engine in Visual Metronome has been custom engineered to provide the most accurate timing possible. See the One More Muse website (linked below) for detailed timing comparisons with other app store metronomes and a graph of the audio output of VM playing sixteenth notes at 720 BPM perfectly in time!!!
- Easily adjustable manual tempo – press your finger on the BPM indicator and then drag up and down for large tempo changes; press the + and – buttons for finer control. Or tap the large number display to have Visual Metronome automatically determine the BPM for you.
- Four octave pitch pipe for reference pitches

One of iOS 5′s nice features… isn’t on the iPad.
With the release of iOS 5 last year, one of the great new features of it was to be able to access our Camera application from the lock screen by double-pressing the home button and then tapping on that camera button. Unfortunately, that was only the case with the iPhone and the iPod touch (where cameras are applicable). iPad owners who upgraded to iOS 5 don’t have the camera button, instead, they have the slideshow button which links to the Camera Roll:

The Reminders application that shipped with iOS 5 is a powerful tool for reminding yourself to do things. You can type something in and include a time, or if you don’t want to use a time, you can use a location. Wherever you are. Or can you? Well, on certain devices you can. The problem with Reminders for iOS 5 is that only iDevices with region monitoring support can take advantage of location-based reminders. The only devices with support for region monitoring are the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 3G model and iPad 2 3G model. The iPod touch and the Wi-Fi-only iPads do not support location-based reminders because they do

Time Warner Cable updated their streaming cable app today enabling live TV streaming on the iPhone.
Before the update streaming live cable content was only possible on the iPad. The update includes support for both the iPhone and iPod Touch, and customers can stream their cable subscription over their home WiFi only. Sadly, the app reportedly hates jailbroken iOS devices. Just a heads up.
The updated app comes at no extra cost to Time Warner Cable subscribers and allows them to manage their DVR, check program scheduling, search for programming, and

The stone age iDevices don’t even support iOS 5.
iOS 5 is Apple’s new iOS operating system that has several new features that we have been asking for as a community for ages. It doesn’t touch on everything, but it certainly does make an attempt to bring some of your jailbreak dreams to iOS. The unfortunate part is that iOS 5 isn’t compatible with any iDevices before the iPhone 3GS or the iPod touch 3G. Even on those older devices – not every feature is available like it is on the newer devices. You can’t use FaceTime, just to name one.
If you’re still rocking an older
