The whole ordeal was discovered by Thampi when he encountered the back-end feature while attempting to hack the application to run on the Mac OS X. After he went public with the news, it sparked quite a bit of backlash from users who viewed the address book upload as a violation of their privacy.
The Path CEO, Dave Morin, quickly responded to Thampi by clarifying that the upload was

It’s finally here…. er, coming.
Mozilla Firefox is likely one of the greatest Internet browsers that can be installed on a modern computer today. It’s open source, has a large add-on library, and has powerful rendering engines. Windows, Mac, and Linux users can all gracefully use Firefox and be very happy with their browsing results. There is of course great competition from other Internet browsers such as Google Chrome and Internet Explorer, however Google Chrome doesn’t have nearly as many add-on capabilities and Internet Explorer isn’t exactly the fastest tool for Web surfing.

A lot of us have been waiting for this moment.
Steam, a popular game-purchasing, game-launching, and social-gaming platform is now available on the iOS platform. On Windows or on Mac OS X, it allows us to purchase games with which we can launch from Steam itself and it includes things like chatting with the friends that we make in those games and/or people we already know that we have added as contacts. It also provides a way to connect with your friends to play in multi-player. Steam is probably best noted for some of its most popular games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops, Portal 2, and Team Fortress

MacBook Pros from mid-2010 get an EFI update.
With the release of Mac OS X Lion, one of the coolest features was being able to restore from a recovery via internet connection. Unfortunately, this was not so for the MacBook Pro 13 inch models from mid-2010. Now, Apple has changed that with an update to EFI that makes it so that those notebooks, like many other Mac OS X Lion-supported computers, can have this internet recovery feature. If you don’t know what EFI means, it stands for Extensible Firmware Interface and it controls the low-level hardware actions. It can be thought of as basically the Mac version

Shortly after the release of Firefox 9.0, Mozilla ended up quickly releasing an update to fix a bug that was causing the browser to crash on Linux, Mac, and Windows systems.
Firefox 9.0.1 was released on Wednesday, leaving many users wondering what the update was for. The company didn’t specify in the 9.0.1 release notes why the update was needed but according to developers, the update was prompted by crash reports, primarily those from Mac users.
