Samsung Infuse 4G Sideloading Enabled

Friday, May 6th, 2011

As we learned earlier Samsung and AT&T finally announced the Infuse 4G, and the feautures and specs mentioned leave little to be desired. COme to find out there’s a few more tidbits that you won’t find in the press release.

With the plethora of people attending the event you can usually assume that some discoveries will be made, good ro bad. It would seem in this case the news is good, very good in fact, and on top of that it’s a first for AT&T. Upon inspection of the Infuse 4G the ability to install devices from sources other than the Android market was found. Sideloading as we know is nothing AT&T has ever messed with, they restrict whatever they can to make your experience what they want it to be. While this may not matter to those of that root and flash ROMs this feature will allow for a lot more functionality straight out of the box without all the modications.

While out of the box functionality is great, I’m one of those people that believe true potential isn’t obtained until a master mechanic works their magic. Following a May 15th release Im interested to see what kind of modifications the Infuse 4G will be subject to, and what kind of performance gains we’ll see.
